This was my first attempt at the hairspray  method of weathering. I wasn’t 100% sure what I was doing but the result was OK.

The VOYAGERMODEL P/E detail set was used on this model.

The detail on the kit’s MG 34 is beautiful.

The kit’s plastic grab-handles were replaced with brass wire bent to shape.

  1. No. At the time I built it Marcus Nicholls had just published his magnificent model and so the photos of mine were put on hold and eventually forgotten. I remembered that Brett still had them sitting around and while he was photographing my Typhoon I got him to dig them out. They looked pretty good to me and as Brett wasn’t going to use them, here they are.

I’m really glad you like them Tom.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

  2. This model was built a few years ago and I don’t think I had even heard of pigments at that time. All the weathering on the tracks and wheels was done with pastel chalk and enamel paint washes. I still don’t use pigments or filters, but I have been told that I do! It just looks that way I guess.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Regards,
    Chris.
